seems to be a weird IE only thing.

The label shows in IE on this page:
http://142.150.154.113/atutor/docs/tools/filemanager/new.php [^]

login jon/jon

Not sure what's different about this text area compared to the ones in the email forms.

This is becoming a bigger problem. Multiple pages have this issue:

/atutor/docs/tools/polls/add.php
/atutor/docs/tools/links/add.php
/atutor/docs/tools/glossary/add.php
/atutor/docs/tools/tests/create_question_long.php
/docs/tools/tests/create_question_multi.php
/docs/tools/tests/create_question_tf.php
/docs/tools/tests/create_question_long.php

Some of the above pages have this text box as the first form element, so it's confusing as to what you need to do.

Yet this page has the label appearing fine:
/docs/editor/add_news.php

Again, this is all in IE.

can't figure it out in a nice way.

alternative would be to replace the * char with an image.

i think it's the float: left; part of the 'required' class that's doing it.

drumroll... and the answer is. id of the textarea 'body'... id="body_text" works, but id="body" doesn't. go figure.

perhaps IE has some sort of reserved properties for 'body' ?!

will go through and change the other pages...

this is bizarre. so it worked for that page, but now changing the id for polls/add.php isn't working...

investigating further.

adding style="width:90%;" to the textareas is the answer. i guess it's too wide and overlaps or something bizarre, but that's how to fix it.

fixed all the files jon mentioned, but there may be more... keep a look out.
