I have assiduously taking my time to edit the languages in Atutor 2.0.2 to my preferred taste. However, with the inception of Atutor 2.1 (or let me say anticipated 2.1.1) how do I maintain my edited english language in these newer versions?

Use the Export feature in the Language Manager to create a copy of your custom language. Assuming you used the language manager's Editor, your custom language will be included with the exported language pack identified by "_c_template" or "_c_msg."

Once you have upgraded, you can import the exported language pack back into the new installation.

Atutor 2.1

As a matter of fact, I'm not upgrading Atutor itself, just the language because I have a separate Atutor 2.1 in the server. I tried doing it just as you've suggested by first importing another language (Spanish) so that I can delete the original English language. Surprisingly, I tried installing my custom language after deleting the pre-defined language but I get an error with compatibility issue. I even tried to import another default English language using the remote method from Atutor.ca website but after installation, I discover the language is empty. To confirm my doubt, I clicked on the editor and I found nothing.
Thank you for your priceless insight.

Importing from an older version of ATutor, you'd need to set

define('AT_DEVEL_TRANSLATE', 1);

at the top of include/vitals.inc.php
