Hi,

We have been using ATutor for about a year and recently upgraded to 1.6.4. New features in 1.6.4 are nice but I am hoping you could add some improvements in new versions.

Main improvement I would like to see is for tests. Currently, ATutor can't be used as a full-fledged testing system. Right now, tests that can be taken are more like self-assessment ones.

After a student has started a test, he can go back to course materials without submitting the test and he won't lose an attempt. Thus, a student can start a test, copy the questions, go back to course materials and find the answers. He can then retake the test and get 100%.

It would be really nice if a student is not allowed to read course materials once he has started a test (or have a module/facility for tests/exams).

Another issue I have is with the Tracker system for pages. The "Last Accessed" column only lists day and month and not the year. If a course spans more than a year, there will be confusion and clashes in dates. As I mentioned, we have been using ATutor for about a year and don't know if the timestamp will change (include year) for "Last accessed" times that are over a year old.

Thank you all for the fantastic system and modules.

It would not take much to prevent students from viewing content while taking a test, assuming they only have one Web browser. We could prevent more than a single login at a time, so they could not login in another browser, but there are advantages to being able to login in multiple browsers.

Testing online is a risky business no matter what system you use. Even if we do prevent access to the content, how would you know the person taking the test is who they say they are. Someone could be watching over their shoulder, with the answers.

Perhaps rethink how you assess students in an online environment.

Regarding the date in the tracker data, that we can add. I've made a note in the feature tracker. We'll see if we can get it in before the next release.
