If you are asking for help, provide lots of detail so problems can be reproduced.

Things to describe:
operating system - Linux
version of ATutor - 1.6.1
versions of php - 5.2.5
version of mysq l - 5.0
webserver & version - Apache 1.3
I have had on one computer Atutor version 1.6 and I wanted to install Atutor 1.6.1 beside it in order to be able to comapre the two.
I named other database wrongly atutor-new and it was utf8. Atutor instalation process reported me that database is not UTf 8 although it was. I issued sql command and it was utf8 just in case that I did not create it correctly.
When I changed name of database into atutorn
everything worked well.
It may be good to write feedbakc error message which assume possibel naming error instead of repeating that problem is collation although collation was OK.
thanks,
veki
