If you are asking for help, provide lots of detail so problems can be reproduced.

Things to describe:
Operating system ATutor is installed on - Windows Vista service pack 1
ATutor version - 1.6.1
ATutor theme name - default
PHP version - 5.2.5 (XAMPP 1.6.6.a)
MySQL version - 5.0.51a
Webserver & version - 2.2.
Web browser being used - Firefox

When I login as Admin I got this error message:

Warning: fsockopen() [function.fsockopen]: php_network_getaddresses: getaddrinfo failed: No such host is known. in C:\xampp\htdocs\ATutor\admin\index.php on line 60

Warning: fsockopen() [function.fsockopen]: unable to connect to update.atutor.ca:80 (Unknown error) in C:\xampp\htdocs\ATutor\admin\index.php on line 60

I logged out and logged in again and there was no message, but I have seen that there are 3 pacthes available. I guess , maybe wrongly that this error message appears when checking for available patches. Hmm, this should be more elegant and without error message.

Regards,

vedran

Hi, thanks for the report.

Patch 0005 on ATutor version 1.6.1 is created to fix this: give a more elegant message when connection to update.atutor.ca is not available. Please use admin account to install.

Thanks.
